Involve your cinema in Big Dance 2012
Sign up to Cinedance by 23 March to get your cinema involved in the UK-wide Olympic festival, Big Dance 2012!
Cinedance brings newly commissioned dance film shorts featuring south London communities into cinemas, as part of Big Dance 2012. It will offer your regular visitors an extra screening before the feature film for the festival week, and celebrate dance film as part of your programme. Cinemas involved will be featured in Big Dance listings and marketing.
Cinedance films are commissioned by Siobhan Davies Dance, Big Dance Hub for south London, and made by straybird – an organisation featuring dance film artists Lucy Cash and Becky Edmunds.
Seven Ways South (2010) – 12m 38s.
A film featuring groups from across the South London Big Dance Hub that are brought together through a common need or desire to move. From Capoeira to Morris dancing, gardening to climbing, members from each of them have been invited to explore and describe these movements.
Pedestrian (currently in production) – Around 3 mins.
An innovative and playful three minute film which engages the viewer in a ‘walk’. The walk is composed of tiny fragments of movement from a diverse cast of south London people and locations cut together to give the appearance of a continuous walking movement.
