Professional Development

Siobhan Davies Dance is committed to providing professional dancers with the opportunity to develop their practise. The company offers professional residencies led by company dancers and has created opportunities for dancers who have trained or worked with Siobhan Davies Dance to widen their knowledge and gain skills in other areas of the dance profession.

JADE Fellowship

Supported by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation the Jane Attenborough Dance in Education (JADE) Fellowship, was created to support a dancer coming to the end of their performing career to make a successful transition to education and community work. Tammy Arjona, is the latest JADE recipient, previously a dancer with Siobhan Davies Dance for five years, Tammy is developing her skills within the Creative Projects department.

Jerwood Bank

“Each year Siobhan Davies Dance has offered six exceptional dance artists the opportunity to develop their artistic practise. Working with company dancers over six weeks the participants explore ideas and practice developed during the recent work of Siobhan Davies Dance. The Jerwood Bank project is set up to give dance artists the time to work creatively and reflectively. Participants are guided to explore ideas and material, build up structures and to recognise what has or has not been achieved.” Siobhan Davies, Artistic Director. Siobhan Davies Dance

Professional Residencies

Siobhan Davies Dance continues to work with dance organisations and vocational dance colleges, providing training for experienced dancers based on the Company practise. Led by Company dancers, participants have the opportunities to explore their own creativity within a mentored environment. Each residency is tailor made to suit the experience and objectives of the participants.
