Bank 2001 was the original pilot for the company’s Bank professional development programmes. Six experienced dancers were given the time, space and money to experiment in the studio, gaining practical experience of the creative working methods of the company. The following dancers participated in Bank 2001.
Andrea Buckley
Andrea Buckley trained at the Laban Centre and is now based in Merseyside. She has been involved in a variety of teaching, choreographic and research projects and has worked with a range of choreographers including Gill Clarke and Rosemary Lee.
Melanie Clarke
Melanie Clarke trained at Laban Centre London and now teaches contemporary technique and Laban Notation at the Laban Centre. She performs and choreographs for her own company, Blue White Dance Company, and has also danced for Henrietta Hale, Akram Khan, Gregory Nash and Twisted Collision Dance Theatre.
Robin Dingemans
Robin Dingemans graduated from the New Zealand School of Dance in 1995 and subsequently spent two years with the Royal New Zealand Ballet. Since then he has been freelancing as a contemporary dancer, firstly in New Zealand and since 1988 in the UK and Europe. Most recently he has been working with Protein Dance.
David McCormick
David McCormick trained at Bretton Hall and at the Laban Centre. He has worked with a variety of choreographers and companies including DV8 Physical Theatre, Imlata Dance Company, Random Dance Company and Richard Alston Dance Company.
Sonja Peedo
Sonja Peedo has worked with a variety of choreographers and companies including Colin Poole, Jeremy James and Company and Small Bones Dance Company. She is now working for Richard Alston Dance Company.
Joana Simas
Joana Simas trained at the Laban Centre. She has performed with Edwards and Watton Dance in House of Delights, Theatre Encorps-Ana Sanchez Colberg and Blue White Dance Company. She has worked with a variety of choreographers including Sonja Rafferty and Peter Shenton.
