Jerwood Bank 2003 used the company’s work, Plants and Ghosts, as a starting point for the following six independent dance artists:
Catherine Bennett
Catherine Bennett trained at the Rambert School, graduating in 1994. She worked with Random Dance Company for five years as dancer and teacher.
Lindsey Butcher
Lindsey Butcher trained at London Contemporary Dance School and has subsequently worked with a range of companies, including Extemporary Dance Theatre, Random Dance Company and Walker Dance.
Jacob Dorff-Petersen
Jacob Dorff-Petersen trained at The National School of Contemporary Dance in Denmark. He has worked with choreographers such as Jan de Schynkel, David Steele and Lene Ostergaard.
Diana Loosmoore
Diana Loosmoore trained in dance at Queensland University of Technology. Since graduating in 1992, she has worked with a number of leading choreographers, including Richard Alston, Jeremy James and Mark Bruce.
Clare Luiten
Clare Luiten trained at New Zealand School of Dance before coming to London Contemporary Dance School. She has worked with Bare Bones Dance Company and collaborated with choreographers such as Sarah Rubidge and Emma Diamond. She has also choreographed several original works.
Mariusz Raczynski
Mariusz Raczynski trained at the National Ballet School in Poland before studying at London Contemporary Dance School from where he received his MA in 2004. Since 1993 Mariusz has worked as a freelance dancer on numerous projects and with companies including the Silesian Opera House, Polish Dance Theatre and most recently, Ballet Lorent. In 2003 Mariusz was a participant in the Jerwood Bank Project and subsequently joined Siobhan Davies Dance in June that year.
Details
The Project Leaders for Jerwood Bank 2003 were company dancers, Sarah Warsop and Sasha Roubicek. Based in London at the Royal Academy of Dance, the project ran for a period of six weeks and culminated in informal studio showings held at Laban, The Place, DanceXchange and Royal Academy of Dance.
