Two Quartets 2007

Siobhan Davies most recently completed work Two Quartets, is a production in two parts featuring eight of the UK's finest dance artists. The company's process of intellectual enquiry produces extraordinary physical movement. Often beautiful and occasionally perplexing this is an evening of subtle changes and dynamic contrasts. Rhythms, timings and structures create complex patterns and dancers concentrate on the internal shift between thoughts, images and emotions. Panels of light change in texture, and perspectives are altered to reveal and lose dancers in the space.

This ingenious presentation was developed in collaboration with composer and musician Matteo Fargion, visual artist Sam Collins, and one of the UK's most exciting young fashion designers, Jonathan Saunders.

Review: Financial Times

“Made from collaborative work in the studio with her dancers, the quartets contrast one with another, resonate and, indeed, define each other by their very differences.” Clement Crisp, 8th October 2007
