Connor Schumacher began dancing at the Purchase College Conservatory of Dance in New York, where he studied composition and performance. After graduating in 2010 Connor moved to the Netherlands. In 2012, he began work with Dansateliers to create his own performances. In 2014 he was asked to be a part of the European project Performing Gender, where he made his first performance Museum performance I trust in this life we will have another moment alone in 2014. Connor was then one of five choreographers who participated in the European project Dancing Museums from June 2015 to June 2017.
With his work, Connor shows himself as a creator and maker of never-obvious images. By moving the body, of both performer and audience, he aims to bring awareness to the bodies we live, the evolution of the human brain and their value and connection to society.
