Youth Dance with CandoCo Dance Company
Candoco Dance Company, the contemporary dance company of disabled and non-disabled dancers, offers weekly dance sessions for 14-25 year olds. Sessions range from technique and creative task work to performance skills and developing your own choreography. Young people will become familiar with Candoco’s inclusive practice, as well as the work of leading choreographers and will have performance opportunities. All classes are suitable for disabled and non-disabled young people.

Capoeria Angola
Teacher: Pedreiro
Increasingly used as inspiration by contemporary choreographers, Capoeira builds stamina and sensitivity. Angola, (the traditional form) develops improvisation skills, spatial awareness, musicality and the strength to work close to the floor. It's also great fun!

Contemporary Dance
Teacher: Laura Glaser
These energetic classes draw on the principles of release technique emphasizing flow and coordination. A general level class it will incorporate a warm-up, dynamic dance sequences and a relaxing cool-down. It will help improve body connectivity and encourage freedom of movement.
Creative performance Class
A development of the Contemporary Dance class where participants can create their own unique movement material. A playful yet structured approach will lead to a transformation of creative ideas into creative dancing. Through improvisational tools you will be familiarised with devising short dances that we regularly present to each other.

Skinner Releasing Technique
Teacher: Gaby Agis, Sally Dean, Florence Peake
A popular and inclusive dance class using guided imagery and hands-on studies to foster suppleness, suspension, multi-directional alignment and economy. A significant influence on international contemporary dance practice, SRT classes welcome beginners, newcomers and professional dancers alike. Experiences SRT students can book for any five classes in the course.

Kathak

Learn this wonderful North Indian classical dance style, which features rapid spins, rhythmic footwork beautiful poses and storytelling. This ancient artform helps gain co-ordination strength and is very enjoyable to learn.
Beginners and improvers classes
Learn the basic movements of this graceful dance style, beginners will learn simple sequences and the rhythms in this classical style improve posture and strength whilst dancing. Improvers will gain a deeper understanding of the form and increase repertoire and increase fluidity of movement. Performance and exam opportunities available.

Five Rhythms / Drum Dance
Teacher: Kate Iwi and Liz Baron-Cohen
Five Rhythms is a freestyle dance workout for the body heart and soul. The Sunday class involves a very low level of teaching so dancers are expected to have some experience of the practice. Join us at the end of each weekend and take a couple of hours just to do your own thing.
