Siobhan Davies Dance
This spring choreographer Siobhan Davies and dance artist Matthias Sperling have been invited to create a new work for the Whitechapel Gallery. The new dance piece will be performed within Claire Barclay’s Shadow Spans installation over four hours a day for a period of three weeks. The work will be informed by Davies and Sperling’s engagement with Barclay’s installation and the ideas behind her work.
As part of the lead up to this new commission, rehearsals will be broadcast live online on www.siobhandavies.com/relay, allowing viewers globally to explore the artists’ creative process. The two artists will discuss the work and share movement material in advance of the live performances at Whitechapel Gallery which take place on 2-20 March 2011.
