These Wednesday night classes develop movement vocabulary and body awareness with opportunities for creative decision-making and choreography.
"I love learning about movement in a more fundamental way; challenging my preconceptions about what dance and choreography is each session"
- Creative Contemporary Dance participant
The class draws on principles of Release technique, emphasising flow, breath and connection with the floor. Each week begins with a warm-up to awaken the senses and tune awareness within the body and to the space, and then playfully you will explore dance material that builds to dynamic dance sequences.
Stay for an optional, additional 30 minutes to delve into Choreography. Using movement phrases from the 1.5 hour class this extra time will enable you to play, tinker and craft dance into choreography through creative tasks guided by the teacher.
The classes accommodate both beginner and intermediate levels to support confident and articulate dancing.
