Henrietta Hale and Rachel Lopez de la Nieta will use their residency to work on Messages from the Field, a creative research project embedded in the study of interpersonal communication.
With a pool of artists and interdisciplinary practitioners they will explore a new model for a performance encounter that focuses on the experience of the individual viewer as subject. The idea is inspired by interpretive rituals, shamanism, Tarot readings, and psychodynamic therapy and uses improvised movement, voice and drawing, both as a response to, and an offering for a subject (the invited viewer).
Each afternoon during the second week of their residency Henrietta and Rachel are opening their practice to the public. You are welcome to drop–in to witness their research in action, ask questions, make comments or participate as a solo viewer.
if you would like to come to the open studio please just visit the reception of Siobhan Davies Studios and you will be guided to the studio.
