CONTINUOUS is partnership between BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art (Gateshead) and Siobhan Davies Studios. Taking dance into gallery spaces across the UK, it seeks to advance the creation, presentation and development of audiences for experimental contemporary dance within visual arts contexts.

Everybody With Me, Always
Freestylers
Freestylers are an ever-expanding team of artists. Person-centred and disability-led, their work is about listening and learning from each other. The Freestylers team have longstanding creative relationships built on care, support and trust. Made up of performances and films, this CONTINUOUS x Unlimited commission, sees them go on a UK tour for the first time.
2021 performances at Goldsmiths CCA (London) in September, Tramway (Glasgow) in October, BALTIC (Gateshead) in November.

Black on Black: 24R
Zinzi Minott
A durational performance that explores the artist’s engagement with dance, queerness, blackness and the body as archive. Over the span of 24 hours, Minott repeats a solo created from movement phrases donated to her by a network of black dancers and artists. The work interrogates dance as a form of labour and the limits of the body through the exhausting processes of repetition and duration.

LET THE BODY is a place for the mess and articulation of bodies; a sit down inner rave. With performances from Muñoz-Newsome, Serefine1369 and Nissa Nishikawa. With music by Shelley Parker and lighting by Charlie Hope.

Satelliser: a dance for the gallery
Janine Harrington and Coworkers
Satelliser: a dance for the gallery, is a durational performance in which a group of artist coworkers cycle through labours of moving, speaking, listening and resting over the course of a day, holding buoyant space for conversation to emerge.

To Earth
Robbie Synge and Julie Cleves
To Earth considers physical acts of co-operation and a close companionship. With simple ambitions, Julie and Robbie devise novel solutions to share otherwise inaccessible time and space together. Their actions are quiet and personal, bold and adventurous.
