Lunar New Year Lion Dancing Sat 25 Jan 2025, 2 - 4pm

Celebrate Lunar New Year with a craft and movement workshop for adults and children!

Join us to see out the Year of the ferocious Wood Dragon and welcome in the creative and wise Wood Snake.

In this afternoon session, Taiwanese movement facilitator Yuyu Rau offers a unique take on the Lion dance – a traditional part of Chinese and Asian cultures, symbolising good luck and fortune, especially during Lunar New Year.

In a creative twist on this cherished custom, we’re inviting adults and children alike to collaborate in crafting our own lion heads, learn the basic steps of the Lion Dance and create their own vibrant choreography together.

There will also be some fortune cookies and Chinese tea to share.
