Join us for a joyous Bollywood disco for all ages!
Everyone is invited to this completely un-exclusive party. Come alone, or with friends and family of all ages. Don’t worry if you’ve never tried Bollywood dance before, the wonderful Vinay from Bollyqueer will be here to welcome you, warm us up and teach us some new moves.
Bollyqueer host Bollywood inclusive spaces, with the aim to empower and celebrate. At a Bollyqueer event you’ll be encouraged to dance in a way that makes your heart and body feel its happiest.
You can expect upbeat Bollywood music from all eras: Disco Bollywood, Classical Bollywood, and your favourite Bollywood Party anthems. There’ll be interactive workshops and we’ll play some fun games to learn some ‘mudras’ from classical Indian dancing. We’ll also learn how to pose like Bollywood Superstars!
Throughout the afternoon we’ll be running a reasonably priced bar, plus there’ll be snacks to share.

Meet the Bollyqueer team
Vinay Jobanputra
Vinay is a pioneering queer and gender non-conforming artist dedicated to challenging and redefining gender norms through the vibrant and expressive medium of Bollywood dance. They are the founder of Bollyqueer, an innovative LGBTQIA+ affirming dance class that not only teaches the art of Bollywood dance but also serves as a vibrant celebration of Queer and South Asian identities. Vinay loves to celebrate who they are through Bollywood dance, and is excited to share their joy with you at the Bollywood Disco!
ACCESS AND AMENITIES AT SDS
Siobhan Davies Studios is mostly accessible, with lifts to all floors. There are two accessible parking spaces available on site which can be booked in advance. Blue Badge parking is also available nearby on West Square and Garden Row (for a full map visit the Southwark Council website). Our main door is power assisted.

- Snack Bar: We have a small selection of bars, drinks and food available to buy from the front desk.
- Shops: The closest shop is Superway Supermarket on Garden Row (4 min walk), the closest supermarket is Sainsbury’s on New Kent Road (7 min walk). We also recommend the Art Cafe which serves sandwiches, jacket potatoes and meals (3 min walk).
* Our changing facilities and showers are not fully accessible. Our closest publicly available and fully accessible changing facility is at The Castle Centre, a leisure centre 0.3 miles away from the studios. You can find full details of their features here.
