A lively start to the Summer with a Bollywood party for all!
Everyone is invited to this completely un-exclusive event. Come alone, or with friends and (chosen) family of all ages. Don’t worry if you’ve never tried Bollywood dance before, the wonderful Bollyqueer team will be back at SDS to welcome you, warm us up and teach us some new moves.
Bollyqueer host Bollywood inclusive spaces, with the aim to empower and celebrate. At a Bollyqueer event you’ll be encouraged to dance in a way that makes your heart and body feel its happiest.
What to expect:
- Bollywood music from all eras including Disco, Classical, plus your favourite party anthems.
- Fun interactive workshops and games to learn some ‘mudras’ from classical Indian dancing.
- Learn how to pose like Bollywood Superstars!
Throughout the afternoon we’ll be running a reasonably priced bar, including snacks from our snack shop.
Please note that the event includes loud music, ear defenders and a quiet space will be available throughout.

Meet the Artist
Kush
Kush (he/they) is an actor, musical-theatre performer, and a lover of all things Bollywood. They have been dancing with Bollyqueer for three years and trained in Bollywood dance for four (not counting the years spent dancing their heart out in front of the TV to iconic noughties Bollywood item songs.
For Kush, Bollyqueer is a space where all intersections of his identity can be celebrated. Their musical theatre background sits perfectly alongside Bollywood. Both are built on song, dance, story, drama, and the art of doing the absolute most! Bollyqueer is where Kush’s queerness and South Asian heritage get to hold hands, and he can’t wait to bring this joy to the Summer Party!
Adrian
Adrian (he/him) is an actor-turned-choreographer and movement director. He has been dancing since his teens, mostly self-taught, and found Bollywood in 2013, it unlocked a connection to his South Asian heritage he hadn’t expected. He joined Bollyqueer in 2025 and is loving every minute. He feels most alive and present when he’s dancing, and being part of Bollyqueer lets him embrace his heritage and express his queerness fully. He’s spent years helping people find their movement, and watching that click happen never gets old. His favourite feeling is watching someone surprise themselves on the dance floor, come to the Summer Party and surprise yourself too!
ACCESS AND AMENITIES AT SDS
Siobhan Davies Studios is mostly accessible, with lifts to all floors. There are two accessible parking spaces available on site which can be booked in advance. Blue Badge parking is also available nearby on West Square and Garden Row (for a full map visit the Southwark Council website). Our main door is power assisted.

- Kitchen: tea and coffee making, fridge, and microwave
- Snack Bar: We have a small selection of bars, drinks and food available to buy from the front desk.
- Shops: The closest shop is Superway Supermarket on Garden Row (4 min walk), the closest supermarket is Sainsbury’s on New Kent Road (7 min walk). We also recommend the Art Cafe which serves sandwiches, jacket potatoes and meals (3 min walk).
