A challenging and generous space to dance. Join this introduction to Salsa Dance, led by one of the leading Salsa teachers in the U.K.
Going to a dance class can be scary! Unscary Saturdays are inclusive classes open to all ages and abilities, from professional dancers to untrained enthusiastic movers. The aim is to dismantle the unhelpful pressures and sense of intimidation that can often be felt in dance spaces.
This is a chance to try out dance styles that you’ve always wanted to give a go but felt too scared OR that you did long ago but feel out of practice with now. Come with a keenness to explore movement and an openness to try stuff. Children 12 years and under must be accompanied by a participating adult.
This workshop is a fun introduction to Salsa, led by one of the U.K.’s leading Salsa teachers. Gabriel is passionate about sharing authentic Salsa while continuing to learn and be inspired by others. Expect easy-to-follow footwork, partner work, and plenty of laughs in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. Whether you’re looking to build confidence, improve your dancing, or simply enjoy the music, everyone is welcome!
Please wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear (clean trainers recommended).

About Gabriel
Gabriel Bravo Rivera @ghappyfeet
Originally from Bolivia, Gabriel began dancing 13 years ago, learning multiple styles of Latin dance and he has been teaching professionally for six years. Now based in London, Gabriel teaches for three different dance schools and regularly travels across Europe and Latin America teaching at festivals.
As a teacher Gabriel’s style is warm, fun and friendly, making his classes incredibly popular. Helping his students progress is at the centre of his teaching style, he has a fantastic understanding of technique and the correct way to teach it – making his workshops highly accessible and he is always in-demand. Gabriel is also a wonderful social dancer – in both salsa and sensual styles and he knows how to party! So make sure you ask him for a dance!

ACCESS AND AMENITIES AT SDS
Siobhan Davies Studios is mostly accessible, with lifts to all floors. There are two accessible parking spaces available on site which can be booked in advance. Blue Badge parking is also available nearby on West Square and Garden Row (for a full map visit the Southwark Council website). Our main door is power assisted.

- Kitchen: tea and coffee making, fridge, and microwave
- Snack Bar: We have a small selection of bars, drinks and food available to buy from the front desk.
- Shops: The closest shop is Superway Supermarket on Garden Row (4 min walk), the closest supermarket is Sainsbury’s on New Kent Road (7 min walk). We also recommend the Art Cafe which serves sandwiches, jacket potatoes and meals (3 min walk).
