A challenging and generous space to dance.
Going to a dance class can be scary! Unscary Saturdays are inclusive classes open to all ages and abilities, from professional dancers to untrained enthusiastic movers. The aim is to dismantle the unhelpful pressures and sense of intimidation that can often be felt in dance spaces.
This is a chance to try out dance styles that you’ve always wanted to give a go but felt too scared OR that you did long ago but feel out of practice with now. Come with a keenness to explore movement and an openness to try stuff. Children 12 years and under must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Join the Lionesse for an introduction to Waacking! We will explore different elements of Waacking, such as posing, arms and finger expression, groove and more. We will also discuss the history of the style, and what makes it so special. By the end of the class, you will have gained an understanding of the style, and will have tools to take home and play with!

About THE LIONESS
The Lionesse is a French-born multi-hyphenate creative based in London. Trained in Waacking across the UK, France, and Japan, and having lived in four different countries, her dance is a unique blend of different points of views and cultures.
An avid battler, she represents both Waacking and the London scene on local and international stages. Beyond battling, The Lionesse is also a teacher, DJ, event organiser, and co-founder of the London WaackingMovement.
Her creative work extends into collaborations with brands such as Nike, Asics, and RedBull. She leads Groovy Room, a monthly Waacking class where each session explores a new focus, alongside other pop-up classes across London.
