About the workshops

The theme for this year’s performance is FEAR: we will be exploring the fear of the unknown, the fear of our space or comfort being threatened, and how fear can controls us. Working together, we’ll ask how we can challenge fear through support and trust in one another.

Annie Pui Ling Lok and Juan Ayala will lead the workshops in collaboration with guest artist Anne-Gaëlle Thiriot. The workshops will be influenced by these artist’s different interests and backgrounds – which include contemporary dance, theatre-making, Argentine tango, Aikido and Contact Improvisation.

Each participant is invited to take part in nine workshops between Thursday 6 June – Saturday 22 June 2024, including the celebratory performance on Saturday 22 June.

Regular workshops will take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with one additional workshop on the Friday before the show. There are three groups to choose from: Group A (morning), Group B (afternoon) or Group C (evening). Joint workshops on Saturday 8, 15 and Friday 21 June will bring all three groups together.

We encourage you to attend as many of the workshops of your chosen group as you can but if there are ones you cannot attend just let us know.

About the Artists
