Charlotte Spencer works as a choreographer, facilitator, curator and occasional performer. As artistic director of Charlotte Spencer Projects, she works across art forms and predominantly in outdoor environmental contexts. Through her work she is interested to open up new forms of conversation, changing how and where performances happen. Through each artistic project, she strives to build community by inviting people to re-encounter themselves in relationship to their lives and their environment; making an active contribution to social and environmental change.
Her Walking Stories – an audio walk for parks has toured extensively nationally and internationally since 2013 and Is this a Waste Land?, which invites a reimagining of urban landscapes, was part of Dance Umbrella and Dance International Glasgow in 2017.
Charlotte was a Sadler’s Wells Summer University artist 2015-18 and Associate Artist at Greenwich Dance 2014-18.
