Glithero is the studio name of designers Tim Simpson (UK) Sarah van Gameren (NL), who met and studied Royal College of Art under the professorship of Ron Arad. They are known for their highly inventive, process-focused approach, which explores the way we value things by virtue of the way they are made. Based in London, the work encompasses products, furniture, installation, film and performance.
Before working as Glithero, Simpson and van Gameren were selected for the London Design museum's Designers in Residence and have served as mentors on the Crafts Council's Maker Development program. Glithero has received a number of awards including selection of both British and Dutch Designs of the Year awards and in 2015 featured in Wallpaper magazine's '20 under 40: the stars of tomorrow'. They have collaborated successfully with a number of esteemed brands but are most known for their edition work that is coveted by private collectors and held in a number of institutions including the Israel Museum, the Zuiderzee museum and the Stedelijk museum. In 2016 Glithero were selected to create one the landmark installations for the London Design Festival at the Victoria and Albert museum.
