Sonia Davin-Smith was born in France and has been based in the UK since 1996. She currently works for Royal Museums Greenwich developing public programmes and cultural partnerships.
Sonia graduated from the Laban Centre in 2001 with a B.A. in Dance Theatre and has worked in a variety of contexts, ranging from community dance, collaborative projects and performance, in Liverpool and London.
Influenced by her earlier dance practice and curiosity of the natural environment, her work draws on movement improvisation techniques placing the sensing body, body imagery and perception of our surrounding environment at the core of her study in developing new works.
Sonia participated in the Still Moving course at Siobhan Davies Studio in 2013.
