“The course was absolutely brilliant and is already having an influence on the way that I am thinking and working.”- Summer 2018 Choreography Course Participant
Learn about choreography using games, play and collaboration.
Choreographer, performer and curator Freddie Opoku-Addaie leads a four-week course, suitable for all, using everyday games as a tool to explore choreography. Within a safe and sociable environment, you will carry out tasks to find, refine and redefine movement and choreographic material.
London born and partly being raised across and of Ghanaian heritage, Freddie draws upon his diasporic experience in his work. He considers how games can navigate social and cultural constructs, and inform our understanding of the role of the individual, the group and the outsider.
On Sunday 18th November the workshop will be led by Freddie in collaboration with performance maker Mamoru Iriguchi. With a collective practice that encompasses choreography, curation, zoology and scenography, Freddie and Mamuro will offer multiple material sources as starting points to develop movement.
Cost for four-week course: £140
