Join choreographer Nicola Conibere to experiment and learn about choreography through our six week course for adults. No previous dance or choreographic experience is required to take part.
In a warm, sociable environment, participants will consider how we use choreography in our everyday lives drawing upon the social habits, structures and ideas that organise our movement. Participants will be encouraged to try out different methods for creating and structuring movement, and building choreographic skills.

1 & 2
How we choreograph ourselves and others in our regular lives?
Identifying familiar ways of moving and being in relation with others, explore how those behaviours can operate as choreography, and experiment with putting those possibilities into action.
3 & 4
Create strategies for developing choreography.
Within a playful and supportive environment participants will experiment with sampling, reframing, transforming and finding other ways of elaborating on materials identified in the previous weeks. Consider how our wider interests can inform choreography develop a range scores and movement possibilities.
5 & 6
A chance to ask new questions to rework and refine strategies developed so far….
Participants will decide on areas of focus, choosing to work collaboratively or otherwise. There will be opportunity to both initiate and participate in choreography.
The course will culminate in an opportunity to share and discuss choreographic outcomes together.
