Trainee teachers from the Institute of Education and London Southbank University participate in teacher professional development workshops with Siobhan Davies Dance.
Facilitated by Dance Artist Marie Forbes these workshops enable teachers to plan and lead high quality dance sessions for their pupils that cultivate children’s curiosity, develop their dance skills and connect to classroom learning.
Taking Siobhan Davies Dance’s new work material / rearranged / to / be as the starting point this series of workshops supports teachers, and thereby their pupils, to look at the neuroscience behind our moving bodies and consider their thinking body in new ways.
Through practical examples of activities for EYFS, KS1 and KS2 the workshop content supports teachers to take this starting point to develop dance with their pupils.
‘I have had some really exceptional feedback about the sessions from the students that I have talked to. They have all loved it and seen really practical ways to implement dance in their teaching as well as developing their understanding about the theoretical aspects AND thoroughly loving the session!’
