Support your pupils’ learning, engage their imaginations, and get them up from their desks and moving!
Work with Siobhan Davies Dance to learn simple techniques for incorporating kinaesthetic learning into your teaching practise, using an accessible, inclusive, replicable methodology.
Using the ‘thinking body’ as the stimulus this day of workshops provides you with a toolkit of tasks and resources for creating dance with connections to neuroscience and the curriculum. Participants will experience example practical dance sessions for EYFS, KS1, KS2, with no taught steps. Our adaptable approach will enable you to develop and structure movement using your pupil’s ideas, fully embedded in the school curriculum and beyond.
The workshop includes a detailed resource pack.
This day of workshops is suitable for primary school teachers (EYFS, KS1, KS2 & SEND), and dance artists working in primary school settings.
To book a place, call reception on: 0207 0919650. Payment required in advance.
Siobhan Davies Dance Primary School Programme includes work with Institute of Education, London Southbank University Initial Teacher Training Courses, school INSETs and projects with pupils in schools across London.
Feedback from participants of SDD’s work includes:
‘The project brought a real change in how I view dance and assess the children’s work. I began to appreciate the children’s creativity using movement rather than assessing their technical skills.’
Rob Leyton, teacher at Charlotte Sharman Primary School.
‘Through this project I learnt that your body can speak as clearly as your words can.’
Y5 pupil, Charlotte Sharman Primary School.
