The Next Choreography Festival takes over Siobhan Davies Studios, with course participants laying an intriguing trail of choreographic explorations for audiences to track and trace through the building. The trail includes tastes of live performance, film, text and participatory invitations by Next Choreography participants.
The annual festival is the culmination of Next Choreography 2017-18, our yearlong course for curious choreographers aged 17—25, led by dance artist Amy Bell. This year, participants have also had the opportunity to work with composer and sound artist Jamie McCarthy to developing approaches to sound and listening in their work. The festival opens the choreographic notebooks of these young artists and will reveal an array of experimental sketches that reflect the creative enquiry and collaboration that has taken place on the course over the last 10 months.
The festival is free to attend and open to all. Advanced booking required for your place on the trail as capacity is limited. Please do join us for a drink after your trail.
