NEXT: Reflections on its essence
NEXT as in
The NEXT step towards something
perhaps someone;
a journey
1. The steps within the thing that is made:
the making, following through,
an act of courage and dedication.
2. Con-NEXT-tion.
NEXT calls for
looking forward,
first a question
then an answer.
It speaks “What’s next?”
It listens –
It is engaged
Young spirited and driven
by the heart and the motion,
NEXT
It is the
NEXT
generation:
ecstatic, excessive and,
exceptional.
Expressing but
exhausted,
existing.
Are we
moving consciously
or are we just on the move?
NEXT is a reminder that we are here. NEXT is movement.
But what if…we are the change
what if
we are on the move to
better though,
in the good sense ‘cause
wait, waiting?
We are not waiting no more
NEXT, next,
next we are
moving without hesitation
even when there is no
clear destination
and it is all pure
exploration
What’s next?
But hey
there is no rush because
We step curious
We step strong.
NEXT as in
Next to one another
And NEXT
to our dreams lay our
means
to create.
A vision,
A moment that is playful,
N-Expanding, Exchanging
NEXT,
Is the
NEXT gaze that points you into a direction,
The look that follows interest.
Wonder.
NEXT is the
honest beginning,
the action taker,
the dance to the spark,
the pulse and the call.
NEXT is an opportunity to be yourself, to choose authenticity.
To choose.
It is the NEXT chance, every chance and
NEXT is change.
Moving and being moved,
it starts in
NEXT
So, start.
About Ribera
Ribera is an Actor, Writer, and Movement Artist, with a love for poetry and storytelling through contemporary dance and hip hop. She is curious about the freedom for exploration within dance: the imagined imagery that inspires or is inspired by the moves, and the space that is held for expression, connection and discovery. Ribera believes that “Dance takes us to the core as it expands our inner worlds. Our views and understanding for each other.”
