Happy Lunar New Year to you all. 2025 is the year of the Wood Snake; it brings with it creativity, wisdom and the possibility of great transformation, as it sheds its skin to start anew. Talking of transformation, our Roof Studio finally has a lush new floor! We’ve also made some improvements to our courtyard garden, have a read about that, and how you can take part, here.
We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who contributed to our Last Dance Fundraiser in support of the Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center in Palestine; which we hope marks the start of a deeper relationship with this inspiring organisation. Our MC-s were Ezi and Roly of the Freestylers who provided fake snow, high heels and killer tunes and moves. Save the date for our next fundraiser on 5 April…
Further reflecting on 2024, we’re pleased to share two expansive and poetic reflections on last year’s Artist Archive programme. One on Angel Zinovieff’s UKG Cosmology Performance + Dance Party from Phoebe Beckett Chingono: “It is cosmology, rave and performance. Endearing flow over tracksuits, limbs, human, heart, face, spine, tipping, tender, lifted, raised, chair legs, legs in air.” Another from Elliot Minogue-Stone following Artist Archive Day, entitled A Call for Audacious Archiving: “to allow for interpretation and transformation, to accept the falsehoods and the fakery.” Read on, here and here.
